Family Engagement
Information and Resources
At the California School for the Deaf, Riverside, we believe that families are integral to the success and well-being of our students. Our Family Engagement Program is dedicated to fostering strong, collaborative relationships between families and the school community. We strive to create an inclusive environment where families feel empowered to actively participate in their child’s education and growth.
Our mission is to provide resources, support, and opportunities for families to engage with their child's academic, social, and emotional development. By building a partnership grounded in mutual respect and open communication, we aim to create a supportive community that celebrates the unique strengths of each student while promoting their independence and self-advocacy.
Our purpose is to:
- Empower families with the tools and knowledge to support their child's learning and success.
- Foster a sense of belonging and community through workshops, events, and ongoing communication.
- Provide access to resources that address the unique needs of Deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
- Encourage collaboration between families, educators, and staff to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education.
- Advocate for family voices in decision-making processes that impact student success and well-being.
Together, we strive to build a nurturing environment where every student can thrive, both in and outside the classroom.
