Volunteer at CSDR!

‘Vol-un-teer’, n. [Fr. voluntaire] 1. A person who enters or offers to enter into any service of his own free will without compensation.
2. A person who freely gives of his talents to enrich the lives of others.
3. A person whose love of mankind stretches beyond the need for compensation

CSDR has a number of volunteers placed in classrooms and offices throughout the campus. We LOVE our volunteers! If you are interested in joining the CSDR Family, you can download a volunteer application from this website or stop by the front office of the school and pick one up. You are welcome to return your application at any time to the front desk.

All CSDR volunteers are required to have a recent TB test (within the last 3 months) and must be fingerprinted through our personnel department. Once you have cleared all the “red tape”, someone from the Outreach office will contact you for placement. We make every effort to place you in an area that you have requested on your application.

Process for CSDR Volunteers

1. Pick up application package from Administration Building Receptionist or download the application here.
2. Have a T.B. test administered by your own physician and bring the results to the Administration Building. (You are responsible for the cost of this test)

3. Schedule your fingerprint appointment with the personnel office. CSDR will pay for your fingerprint process. It is the volunteer’s responsibility to notify the Personnel Office in advance if you cannot keep your scheduled appointment.

4. Personnel will administer the fingerprint procedure.

5. Leave the completed application packet in the Administration Building for the Outreach Department.

Please do not call the school during the time you are waiting for fingerprint results. Outreach will contact you with print results as soon as possible.

When your prints have cleared, Outreach will post your availability for departments needing volunteers. At this time, important information will be made available to them such as signing ability and other skills you might possess. As soon as a match is made, or you are requested, you will receive a phone call explaining the pertinent aspects of your possible placement. You have the right to turn down any placement. If this happens, your application will be put back into the system for future placement. CSDR reserves the right to determine the most appropriate placement for volunteers. Therefore, some requested positions may not be available.
