The Interpreting and Translating department is responsible for making sure that all ASL and foreign language interpreting needs are met. This includes not only ASL or Spanish, but any language that CSDR parents use as their primary language. In the past CSDR has provided Korean, Laotian, Farsi, Romanian, Chinese, and several other language interpreting services. We also provide interpreter(s) from outside agencies to accommodate our parents or staff’s needs if exceeds than our interpreting/translating staff’s schedules.

Interpreter/translators at CSDR are called upon to provide services for a variety of assignments. These can include IEP meetings, guest speakers, workshops, field trips, staff meetings, company representatives working with our deaf staff, Sacramento staff or dignitary visits, phone calls, parent conferences, and more.

Our Spanish translators also provide written translations for IEPs, events, newsletters, and other written communication with Spanish-speaking families.
