Counseling Services was established in 1989 to provide on site school counseling services for the psychological and social/emotional well being of the students and their families. Our goal is to offer free of charge professional help in resolving personal/interpersonal issues that interfere with the students’ functioning at full potential at CSDR.
The Counseling department utilizes a community-based approach offering classroom and dormitory intervention/consultation to students, staff, parents/families, and the community at large. Information and referral to appropriate community resources is also available through the Counseling Services department.
Counseling Services staff includes Masters level School Counselors, School Social Workers, Parent Education Specialist; and clerical staff fluent in English and Spanish. All staff members are fluent in sign language and have many years of experience assessing and counseling deaf and hard of hearing persons of all ages.
