The Second Annual Paws Movie Night was presented on May 18, 2006. Once again, the event was a huge success for CSDR. After hearing how great the movies turned out and all the improvements from the previous year, more than 300 people attended the showing. Six classes, averaging seven students in each class worked for four months on the project. Yoon Lee was their TV Production teacher and guided them in making six wonderful movies.

The first step in the process was to decide what the movies should be about. The classes had five subjects to choose from: horror, romantic, thriller, lesson-teaching, or based on a true story. This was the hardest part, deciding what their movie would be about and getting the class to agree on the story theme. After at least three weeks of arguing, disagreements and agreements, the classes finally settled on the story theme. As soon as the final decisions were made, one student took over writing the script for the whole story. Then the whole deliberation begins again, making sure that everyone in the class agrees on the film the script. When the script is finalized, the class starts discussing what clothes to bring for the next six weeks. They have to make sure they don’t change one little thing in the way of their looks. If one person dyes their hair or changes their nail polish in the middle of the shooting, then its pretty much over, or it must be added to the scene in the script.
The Advanced TV Production class had additional duties. They had to collect the money for the tickets, write the script for the Master of Ceremonies, set up the stages, find judges, and make awards, trophies, and flyers for the event. On the day of our second Annual Paws Movie Night, the six judges: Bernard Bragg, CJ Jones, Terrylene, Ty Giordano, Julie Rems, and Eric Calbert, and more than 350 people showed up. The MC’s were freaking out. Mr. Lee was panicking and students from the TV production classes had butterflies in their stomachs.
The judges watched the movies prior to Paws Movie Night. This saved time since they were prepared to make their decisions. After the movies were shown, the judges decided they needed to get together one more time, to make sure they had made the right decisions. Sure enough, they changed their minds.
