Interpreting Services

Interpreting Services

The Interpreting Department has two full-time and one part-time intermittent ASL interpreters and one full-time Spanish interpreter/translator.

The interpreting department is responsible for making sure that all ASL and foreign language interpreting needs are met.  This includes not only ASL or Spanish, but any language that CSDR parents use as their primary language.  In the past CSDR has provided Korean, Laotian, Farsi, Romanian, Chinese, and several other language interpreting services.  If parent and staff needs are greater than what CSDR interpreting staff can accomodate, CSDR contracts with outside agencies to provide appropriate interpreting/translating needs.

Interpreters at CSDR are called upon to provide services for a variety of assignments.  These can include IEP meetings, guest speakers, workshops, field trips, staff meetings, company representatives working with our deaf staff, Sacramento staff or dignitary visits, phone calls, parent conferences, and more.

Our Spanish intepreter also provides written translations for IEPs, events, newsletters, and other written communication with families.

If you have any questions about CSDR intepreting services, please feel free to contact the interpreting department.
