Automotive painting focuses on painting a car inside a paint booth. Prior to painting, students do all the prep work and learn processing of the paint mixture. Once the paint has cured, students perform a finish waxing to protect the paint. They also learn how to compute final costs.
Automotive engine repair includes small engine repair during the first year. Advanced courses include automotive engine repair and rebuilding. Students in advanced courses may bring their own vehicle to have their engine repaired or rebuilt.
Automotive collision focuses on responsibilities of an auditor/estimator at an accident scene. Students learn the role of the auditor/estimator in determining the cost of damages. Students learn to distinguish minor and major replacement of automotive body parts.
Welding features a wide variety of metal projects. In addition to learning different welding techniques, students learn to use the plasma cutter to make neat and accurate cuts in metal. Many projects are provided by the school that requires students to read blueprints and make accurate measurements.
Metal working is an optional activity for students that are interested in metal sculpture. They learn to use a variety of different kinds of metals and different cutting and fastening techniques.
