Clockwise: Derek Keels, Jason Katz, Frank Frajio, and Gio Vazquez
These paintings were completed during the study of the Elements of Art – Color. Color Theory is defined as six different categories of color that can be seen on the color wheel. Also, they learned several color schemes - Primary colors, Secondary colors, Intermediate colors, Complementary colors, and Analogous colors.
Primary colors are red, blue and yellow. Secondary colors are made by combining two primary colors and intermediate colors are made by combining a primary color with an adjacent secondary color. Complementary colors are those directly across from each other. Analogous colors are sitting next to each other (3 to 5 colors) on the color wheel.
Students worked from digital pictures, studied and emphasized good aspects of composition; they created the painting using one of the color schemes. All in all, they found learning art techniques very challenging and learned to appreciate ART.
In conclusion, the art students are very proud of their work.
