Welcome!

Hello ya all!  I’m Don Burnes.

I’d like to share with you a bit about my bio! In 2004, I started to work as a sub teacher in the High School department and I was in that position for a year. Afterwards I became a Science teacher teaching Biology and Chemistry which I truly enjoyed! Now I am working as the new Workability Coordinator.  In this position it is my goal to develop a consistent working relationship with the students, parents, principals and administrators!!

I sincerely hope we can challenge the students to consider new possibilities with a variety of jobs on-campus and off-campus. I want to give them the courage to step out of their comfort zone and explore job diversity, so that they can become confident in how to accomplish their goals and be motivated to achieve the impossible.

This year my motto is:

Stay MAD!!!
M – motivated
A – achievement oriented
D – determined

Stop by and see my ‘Snapple Facts’ wall!!

Don

Hola amigos! (“hello friends”)

This is the beginning of my second year in the WorkAbility 1 Program.

My name is Jeannine De Loye and my primary responsibility is finding job placements for our High School students. I assist students with CSDR’s After School Work Experience Program, Special Projects, and on- & off-campus work experience.

Our students know me most as the individual who disperses their checks!! In addition to creating jobs and paying our students, I will follow up on their progress during summer vacations and even after our students graduate. I am happy to assist alumni and/or transfer students with their journey into the workforce! Come in and visit me at CSDR room 311.

Nina Poblete joined our Workability and TPP program this year. She is the Lead Teacher for the program. For 13 years, she worked at Department of Rehabilitation and she came to our school to work with hundreds of high school juniors and seniors.  She is excited to be part of the CSDR family and has a lot of plans for growing both programs.
